Avoid the line and purchase your team's entry in the putting contest now! Each team member putts and the lowest distance to the pin from a total of 4 putts wins 50% of the collected putting contest donations.
Mulligans ($10/each) - a mulligan is a second chance to swing, without adding an extra stroke to your scorecard. Avoid the line and purchase as many mulligans as you'll need! You'll receive a ticket for each mulligan to track usage across your team on the day of the event
(1 for $5 or 3 for $10) - purchase tickets for a chance to win half the prize money! The more tickets you buy, the higher your odds of winning. Mike Skinner was a teacher, coach, and administrator at Mount Vernon High School from 1955 to 1983. Mike taught social studies, physical education, and driver education. He coached Varsity Basketball from 1957 to 1965. Additional coaching assignments included Golf, JV Basketball, and 8th Grade Football. Mike served as an administrator from 1973 to 1983. When Mike retired in 1983, the Fairfax County School Board honored him by naming the field house the "Michael M. Skinner Field House". Mike's dedication to MVHS continued after his retirement. For many years he was the "voice of the Majors" announcing basketball games, wrestling tournaments, football games, and band competitions. He has served on numerous school-related committees and continued to be an avid supporter of the school. Mike attended Mount Vernon High School graduations for 57 years. Mike not only served our community but he also served his country as a World War II veteran and served in the Navy aboard the USS Washington. Mr. Skinner passed away on October 17th, 2016. His wife Lucy, a former English teacher at MVHS, continues to live in the Mount Vernon community while enjoying her time on the golf course and with her children and grandchildren.
